We Have Been Neglected

This past week our mom has been sick with something called the "flu". In the beginning it was nice to have her to lay on but we started worrying about our munchies. Would we have enough to last until she could resupply? It takes alot out of us to snuggle so closely while she is shivering you know.

Oh oh, on the 4th day our favorite treats ran out. She tried substituting with #%$@ that we wanted nothing to do with. Should we go or should we stay? Hey, isn't there a song with those lyrics? Anyhoo we pondered the situation. All we wanted was treats after all!

By the time we chose what to do her fever broke and we were taken care of. Mom needs to make sure the treat locker is well supplied at all times!

Anyone Need A New Mom?

Stubbs here. Yesterday mom tricked me into going to the V E T! I was given two vaccines and given a clean bill of health. I went from being a six pound weakling to a muscular thirteen pounds! Now mom is calling me Tubby instead of Stubby! I think I'll bite her toe!

Caught With a Left Hook

It has been a rough New Year. Our Uncle Sam, who was taking care of us, had to go to the hospital the day before mom came home. Mom came home to a broken water heater too. Her beloved uncle passed six days later from cancer that no one knew about! She's been trying to settle his affairs and that takes a lot of time. He kept telling her when she gets back he would go to the doctor. She feels so bad about not being here for him.
We are just glad she is home again. We lost some weight and she has been giving us treats and feeding us regularly. Poor Sam was so sick he didn't always remember. He made us sleep on the floor so our entire routine was off. We could tell something was wrong and that upset us. We were nervous wrecks for awhile. As you can see from the photo we are relaxing once again. Stubbs in a sun puddle.

Happy New Year Friends!

Happy New Year! We haven't forgotten our blog, but the secretary is still awol. She returns Tuesday thank dog! We hope that the new year brings good things to our friends and their families. Bless all of you. Here's the reason our Momma's been gone for a month. Begrudgingly we admit he is kinda cute.

Abandoned......."sob"

Our mom left us to go to Virginia yesterday. Our sis is having a baby and mom is spending the holidays with her family. We can understand that, but look at the betrayal. She neglected to mention that she would be loving on others. How could she? Sob........

A Salute To All Veterans

Today we remember all those who have served and give thanks.
We are including a photo of moms son and wife (who is an Army vet) that was taken at the Ball yesterday. Mom is very proud of him and her.

Election Day! Have You Voted?

What an exciting day! Today we were able to vote just like our mom. Of course the election in Blogville is important to the pet community more than the other.
It doesn't matter if you have fur, feathers,or scales, go to Sarge's blog and vote.
Mom doesn't know how to do that linkey thing or we would.

Tuesday Trials

This morning before full daybreak we went out to do our "business". We could smell something on the ground that didn't belong in our yard. The cat, Big Red, just sat there looking all proud of himself. So Mom gathered us up and we went in for breakfast. An hour passed and we wanted to see in the daylight if we could find the source of the smell. We got sidetracked looking for the frog that lives under a bush. Mom went around the back of the house to see if she could find what the cat had caught before we got there. She was looking straight ahead and then glanced down and guess what she saw as she quickly stepped back! Come on pals use your imaginations here. Remember it is really dry and warm here almost year round. That's right, it was a baby rattle snake about a foot long. The ants were already crawling all over him but he wasn't a gonner yet. Mom ran back and snatched us up so quick our heads spun! We all went in the house and waited for her uncle to get up and dispatch the little guy. When we were finally let out only his scent lingered. Mom is so thankful none of her critters were harmed.
Thanks for listening everyone. Writing this for us helped Mom settle down.

Stubbs Takes Over!

Seeing as how I have taken over just bout everything else, I am doing a post here!

It has taken a while but things are pretty much how I Mr. Stubbs, wants them. I sleep in the big bed, get the door opened when I want out, fed twice a day, still working on the treat dispensing though. It is not often enough if you ask me!!

I have been really busy the last few months. Teethed on the door jam, teehee. Chewed the corner off a throw rug. Destuffed ALL the stuffies! Chewed on the carpet and pulled at the strings. The sofa and loveseat as well as 4 throw pillows have tattered edges. This is just what has been going on in the house.

Outside I have discovered all kinds of stuff. The best is cat poop! We are in a bad drought here so the backyard doesn't get watered except for the plants and tree. That brings in the ants and I found not 1 but 2 nests of red ants! Boy, they sting like fire! My poor little feets and tummy were making me cry. Mom scooped me up and put me in a sink of cool water and shampoo to kill those boogers. I caught a fly but was unsure what to do with him. Milton said to just eat the thing and be done with it, but he flew away while I was playing with him.

Well that is my summer adventures so far. I need to go see if there is something I need to chew on.

Snip Snip

Wicked Wed!

It was bath day, do we need say more?

There was a roadrunner on our fence. I spotted him running across the patio. I rushed to the door to bark at him and he jumped to the fence. I am now on lookout for the coyote. Stubbs missed it all (slacker).
